High in Omega 3 fatty acids and various antioxidants, chia seeds add nice texture to your smoothie, conferring protection to your cardiovascular system and boosting your immune system.
If you are looking for more sweetness in your smoothie, honey is a great way of achieving this in a natural way. Adding ginger and honey is also a great way of preventing and helping chest infections due to their soothing properties.
To create a creamier and more consistent texture, milk can be added and will also provide a good amount of calcium. Different varieties of milks can be added in case of milk and dairy intolerance.

Berry Blast Summer Smoothie:
60ml acai juice
¼ teaspoon of grated fresh ginger
2 teaspoons of chia seeds
250ml flax, soya or dairy milk
1 tablespoon of runny honey
1 tablespoon of natural yogurt.
Simply chop and blitz the ingredients in a blender and voila – a nourishing and tasty smoothie.
